Who writes this blog
Every article on this blog is written for and published under the name of Andrea Simon, PharmD, a practicing hospital pharmacist. The articles are general education about medicines for older adults and the families who help them.
How articles are made
We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. Andrea's knowledge, her stories from practice, and her corrections shape each piece.
What "Reviewed by" means
Some articles show a line that reads "Reviewed by Andrea Simon, PharmD" with a date. That line appears only after Andrea has gone through the article line by line and signed off on its clinical content. If an article doesn't show that line, it hasn't had that review yet.
What "Updated" means
An "Updated" date means the content of the article changed on that date: its wording, facts, links or structure. We don't change the date when nothing changed.
Advertising and money
This blog has no ads and no sponsors, and no company pays to be mentioned. ManyMeds also offers a paid medication review for families. Articles point to the free Family Medication Starter List and, for situations a list can't sort out, to a free 15-minute call with Andrea.
Not medical advice
The articles explain how medicines work and what's worth asking about. They aren't advice for your situation or your parent's. Don't stop or change a medication without talking to the prescriber. In an emergency, call 911.
Reporting an error
If something on this site looks wrong, email hello@manymedshelp.com with the page address and what you noticed. When we correct an article, its "Updated" date changes.
